A taste of South Tyrol
Food grounds us, it connects us and gives new energy.
What happens when the flavours of our homeland meet the longing for something more? When we allow our tastebuds to look beyond the borders? When we give our chef free rein? The result is a unique culinary symbiosis, uniting tradition with new ideas and delighting both the nature-loving mountaineer and the well-travelled cosmopolitan alike.
The taste of freedom
At the Zuegg you can design your holiday entirely as you wish. This principle also applies to our dining concept. Thanks to a fully equipped kitchen, you can cater for yourselves in your chalet if you prefer. Should you wish to be indulged, our mountain hut in Italy is open for lunch and dinner.
South Tyrolean cuisine offers everything fine dining could ever need.
On this occasion
Book Chalet Zuegg for your private event and enjoy our fine culinary skills as well. Regular highlights in our restaurant include events such as the Almtavolata or brunch with live music, which are also open to day guests.
The dining concept
Our head chef Helmuth Oberkalmsteiner comes from Avelengo, where he also learned his craft. The specialities of South Tyrolean cuisine provide him with an almost inexhaustible supply of ingredients, flavours and recipes handed down through generations. But that is not all: Helmuth has travelled the world and gained inspiration from the cuisines of other countries. He even won first place on the renowned German cookery show “Das große Backen”! What can you look forward to? South Tyrolean cuisine entering into a love affair with modern haute cuisine.
