Getting to the chalet
How to reach us quickly and comfortably
We’re surrounded by green meadows in summer and snowy expanses in winter – and yet, it’s surprisingly easy to get here. Below, we’ve clearly laid out the easiest ways to reach us in both winter and summer. You’ll also find helpful links for arriving by public transport further down the page.
Hafling is accessible by car all year round. Take the “Bolzano Sud” exit from the Brennero motorway, then continue on the expressway toward Merano until you reach the “Sinigo” exit. Follow the main road through Sinigo until you see the signs for Merano 2000 and Avelengo.
Alternatively, you can also reach Merano via the Resia mountain pass and through the Venosta Valley.
The nearest airport is Bolzano, which offers direct flights several days a week from over 15 destinations across Europe.
If you're arriving by train, travel via Bolzano and then on to Merano, from where a bus will take you up to Avelengo.
In winter, the final stretch of road leading to the chalet (from the Falzeben car park) is snow-covered and not accessible by private vehicle. You can park at Falzeben or at our partner hotel, Chalet Mirabell in Avelengo – we’ll be happy to shuttle you to the chalet.
In summer, overnight guests with suitable vehicles may drive up the hiking path to the chalet in the morning and evening hours and park in the underground garage.
If you prefer not to drive, you can also leave your car at the Falzeben car park or at Chalet Mirabell in Avelengo – we’ll gladly provide transportation to the chalet.
We won’t keep it from you: true mountain enthusiasts and adventurers can reach the Zuegg Chalets on foot or (in summer) by mountain bike from the Falzeben parking area (approx. 30 minutes).
If you take the Falzeben cable car, you can hike down to the chalets from the top station.
